Happy birthday Linda

I recently made this card for my lovely friend Linda

I am still playing catch up with my photos but I am only about a week behind now, so hopefully should be up to date by next weekend

Lots of layering and die- cutting on this card

The little pennant banner was made using a Stampin Up punch as was the sentiment, all the dies except the ovals and leafy scroll are from China, the oval dies being Spellbinders and the leafy scroll being an old Marianne die I believe

Flowers are Prima and Wild Orchid crafts

We have enjoyed a beautiful week weather wise, only a couple of days with rain, the rest have been bright and sunny, the garden is going mad with growth. A couple of shrubs cut back at the end of last year have sprung forth with masses of new foliage and all the spring flowers are in full bloom. Considering there was absolutely nothing but weeds and empty flower beds two years ago we have been rewarded beautifully for our patience.

Love and perfect petals

Needlecraft

As promised, I am back today with something not made from paper - shock, horror

A few weeks ago I went to the Exeter Craft show with my good friends Gillian and Sue, both of whom were looking for knitting/crochet supplies

I went for papercraft supplies

But, like when you take a trip to Sainsburys for a pint of milk and come out with a barrowful, I went in for card and ink and came out with bags full of much more than just card and ink !

I am NOT a knitter, nor am I a needleworker, and yet I came home with balls of wool and a pattern, and a needlework kit !

This gorgeous little bookmark was always intended to be a gift for my mum. I was going to save it for christmas but decided to send it early when she was under the weather.

The bookmark was made using a kit from Sue Hawkins ( who very kindly said, even me, a complete novice would be capable of finishing this dinky little project )

I am not going to lie, I did have to concentrate, I did have to make sure the light was good ( so many teeny tiny stitches ) and I did take about a week to complete it

But, I loved doing it, maybe it was because it was for mum and maybe it was because it was something completely out of my usual repertoire and therefore a challenge

But one thing for sure was the wonderful kit made it almost idiot proof

Sue does an excellent job of photographing all the steps, there are lots of handy tips and tricks, incredibly thorough instructions and easy to follow charts

If I can do it, then anyone can do it !

Both ends are created the same, the top one being finished flat and the bottom one being humbug shaped

You can find Sue's website HERE

Love and little stitches

Get well Soon Amy

Yes, back with yet more Get Well soon Wishes

This card was for Amy

She fell down the stairs at work and caused some quite severe ligament damage in her foot, needless to say she was on crutches and wearing a moon boot for a while

I handcut the little foot and wrapped it in genuine bandages ( had some teeny tiny ones left over from Robbies toe op)
The safety pin was from a set of baby scrapbooking embellishments

Sentiment is from Stampin' Up and all dies are from China

Amy is free from the boot and the crutches and back at work, she is still undergoing physio but feeling much better thank goodness

Back tomorrow with something not made from paper !!!

Love and little limp limbs

Thankyou

A brief hiatus from all the get well cards

This one was made for my mum to give to the nursing staff when she was discharged from hospital

We were so grateful to all the nurses who cared for mum. They all do such a challenging job and do it with grace and a smile

Nothing was too much trouble and their kindness was very much appreciated

There were male nurses on the ward as well as females so I tried to make the card appealing to both

Thankyou to all the lovely people on ward C6

Love and appreciation

Get Well Soon

This year has been an awful one for friends and family becoming poorly, I am almost fearful to pick up the telephone

This card was made for Neil's mum who recently had to have her hip replaced, complications after surgery quite literally knocked her off her feet for a while

She is on the mend now, thank goodness

Back tomorrow with another Get Well Card

Love and healing wishes

Easter Catch Up

Another little catch up with cards I made a few weeks ago

These are from Easter

Here they are all together

All made to the same design with slightly different patterned papers and embellishments
Keeping with the spring colours and a couple of Easter dies ( Rabbits and eggs)

And here they all are in close up so you can see the details

It seems we have finally started enjoying some lovely warm weather at last

This week has been stunning in Cornwall, very warm and sunny with most days being devoid of any cloud (and the obligatory rain !)

I have almost finished the scrapbook album I have recently been working on for my cousin to give as a wedding gift. I will share all the pages as soon as I know it is in the hands of it's recipients

Back tomorrow with some more craftiness

Until then

Love and sunshine

Mothers Day cards

 Hi

I am still going through the archives on my computer and catching up on cards made these last few weeks

Here are the Mothers Day cards I made

First up is my mums

I created a three layered front to the card

I used my new dies from China
Heart border punch is from Stampin' Up
Letter dies are Cuttlebug
Heart dies are Nellie Snellen

This second card was made for Neil's mum

I went for Spring colours on this one and decided to make a pretty 'Easter style' wreath as the focal point

The flowers are Prima

Dies and papers are from China

Ribbon and lace from my stash

Sentiments on both cards were computer generated and hand cut into banners

My own Mothers Day was lovely

My cards and gifts were thoughtful and perfect and Robbie also took us all out for dinner to the newly refurbished Pier House in Charlestown

We enjoyed a stunning meal, warm and friendly atmosphere and stunning views across the harbour

Love and gratitude

Robbie passed !

Very proud to say Robbie has passed his driving test

Well done Rob !!!

Sadly our budget could not stretch to the car on the front of this card but he does have wheels now and is loving the freedom

The car topper and patterned paper is from a magazine, several years ago ( hoarding does pay !)
Sentiment is Stampin' Up
Corner and banner dies are from my recent 'trip' to China

Love and losing 'L' plates

Mum is still in hospital

We are all hoping mum is all better and home very soon

Many thanks to everyone who has been sending well wishes and cards, dad and I pass them on and Mum appreciates them all so much

Also massive thanks to the nursing staff on C6, they have been so kind and are doing their very best to help mum as far as they can

February birthdays

Aside from myself and the boys, there are a few other people I know who celebrate their birthdays in February

First up I am sharing the card I made for my niece Katie

And this second card was made for my dear friend Trish

I have been on a cardmaking frenzy for a few weeks now and with a selection of new dies (from my recent expedition to China !) I have really enjoyed rediscovering my mojo

I have also been commissioned by my cousin to create a scrapbook album as a wedding present for his best friend and his soon-to-be wife as a wedding gift

I must admit to really enjoying the process of working with photos again and feel determined to also rekindle my love for scrapbook pages. So far I have only created one layout since we moved home and that was over a year ago, so I will have plenty of photos to tackle - watch this space !

Love and good intentions

Happy new year ( in April )

Please excuse the randomness of my next few posts

We have enjoyed a busy couple of months and I have lots of crafty makes to share - far too numerous to upload to one post, so I am intending to share them over the next few days until I am all caught up again

There is no rhyme or reason to their posting so please don't get confused by the lack of chronological order

It has been a stunningly sunny and beautiful day here in Cornwall

I took advantage of the agreeable weather and spent all morning mowing and tidying the garden, it looks much happier for a prune and spruce up

I  am now cream-crackered and fit for not much else, hence an hour or two faffing with photos and updating the old blog

Here are some "happy new year " cards I made back in January. I don't usually make this type of card, but, with so many friends living at the other end of the country, I think it is a lovely way to keep in touch

I used the same stack of papers and ribbon for each card, in an attempt to cut down on procrastination ( and mess !)

And here they are, all close up and personal, so you can see the details and the foiling in the papers

Personally we have had a good start to the new year but unfortunately a few of my close friends and family have not been so lucky, many of them seem to be dogged by misfortune and /or ill-health, there will be several get well cards to share in the next few days

Neil and I have been to our first festival of the year, Winters End in Poole - Dorset

I also managed to sneak some time, a whole afternoon to spend with my lovely friend Pat who has recently moved to Bournemouth, it was like we had not been apart and we were chatting and giggling away, both enjoying the same naughty humour
- as always !

Robbie came with us and we camped in the campervan, in the middle of a forest - in february - yes we are a little bit bonkers

The festival was fantastic, some amazing talent, bands we were familiar with and some new ones too

The three days were an absolute blast and the weather, although cold, behaved itself and kept dry and sunny. Thankfully all the gigs were indoors, so no need for wellies and woolies.

See you tomorrow with another little update and some more crafty bits to share

Love and sunny kisses
